All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.
The average pay for GPs working in The Spa Surgery in the last financial year was £66,888 before tax and National Insurance. This is for 4 full time GPs and 8 part time GPs who worked in the practice for more than six months.
From June 2015 all patients registered with the practice will have been allocated a named accountable GP. This is a contractual requirements but patients are entitled to choose to see any GP or nurse in the practice.
A named accountable GP takes responsibility for the co-ordination of all appropriate services for their patients and ensures the are delivered. If you wish to know who your named GP is you can ask a member of the Reception team.

Dr Greenwood has been a partner at the practice for over 20 years. Her special interests are asthma, COPD and Mental Health. She holds the GP Cancer Lead role in Harrogate & Rural District.
|Dr Mark Hammatt (m)|
Dr Hammatt qualified from Leeds Medical School in 1990. He joined the practice in 1999 having spent a few years working in Australia. Dr Hammatt plays a key role in supporting and teaching young doctors and undergraduate medical students. He also has a lead role in IT and managing electronic information in the practice.

Dr Hay joined the practice in October 2009. She has a special interest in palliative care and she has a key role in information governance for the practice. Dr Hay is also a member on the board for Harrogate & Rural District Clinical Commissioning Group.

Dr Kirby graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2004. She joined Spa Surgery in September 2012. Dr Kirby also works as a Clinical Lecturer in Primary Care at the University of Leeds teaching both medical students and qualified doctors and is involved in health research. Her particular areas of clinical interest are musculoskeletal medicine and dementia.

Dr Maw qualified in 1995 from St George's Hospital (London). She joined the practice in 2003 and is interested in ear, nose and throat problems, family planning, teenage health and women's health matters. Dr Maw plays a key role in teaching undergraduate medical students.

Dr Prowse qualified in Leeds in 1985 and joined the practice in 2000. She specialises in women’s health, family planning, rheumatology and joint injections. Dr Prowse is the practice representative on Council of Members for Harrogate & Rural District Clinical Commissioning Group.

Dr Saeedi qualified from Leeds Medical School in 2009, and after post-graduate training in St James' Hospital in Leeds, and Calderdale Royal Hospital in Halifax, he went on to complete GP training in the Mid-Yorkshire NHS Trust area. His areas of interest include musculoskeletal medicine, child health and he leads on teaching undergraduate medical students.

Dr Scott has been with the practice since June 2006. His special interest is in minor surgery and chronic disease management such as diabetes. He is practice lead GP for Prescribing.

Dr Shacklock qualified from Newcastle University in 2003. She joined the practice in April 2010. She has a particular interest in contraception, sexual health, teenage and women's health. Dr Shacklock is the Named GP for child protection in Harrogate & Rural District.

Dr Wright qualified from St. George's Hospital (London) in 1988 and has a particular interest in cancer services, palliative care and the management of chronic diseases such as diabetes. She joined the practice in January 2000. Dr Wright is a GP trainer and takes a lead in the practice in teaching and supporting new doctors and undergraduate medical students.

Dr Handley graduated from the University of Leeds in 1994. She joined the practice in July 2007. Her areas of interest include contraception and women's health.
Dr Emma Goldstein (f)
MBBS, DRCOG, MRCGP
Dr Goldstein qualified from the University of Newcastle in 2007. She joined the practice in 2014 as a GP registrar and now works as a salaried GP. She has a particular interest in women's health and care of older people.
Dr Sarah Peachey (f)
MBChB Hons, MRCGP
Dr Peachey graduated from the University of Leeds in 2009. She joined the practice as a GP registrar in 2014 and now works as a salaried GP. She has particular interest in child and Adult mental health, pain management and carers support.
Dr Emma Rivers (f)
Dr Bembridge is a GP Registrar in her first year of training. She is supervised by Dr Carol Wright and will be with us until early 2018.
Dr Tania Price-Kazemi (f)
Dr Price-Kazemi is a GP registrar in her third year of training. She is supervised by Dr Jane Kirby and will be with us for the next 12 months.
